Scott Wells, JD

Scott M. Wells, JD, serves as the Privacy Law Compliance Senior Associate for the Center of Excellence for Protected Health Information at CAI.  Before joining CAI, Scott was a staff attorney at Disability Rights New York (DRNY) where he engaged in impact litigation on behalf of individuals living with disabilities.  Scott also worked as a Senior Appellate Attorney with Mental Hygiene Legal Service (MHLS) where he litigated appeals before the New York State Court of Appeals and Appellate Divisions, including successfully arguing a landmark decision upholding the federal privacy protections under HIPAA for individuals receiving court-ordered mental health treatment.

Scott received his JD from the City University of New York School of Law in 2007 and is a cum laude graduate of the University of Pittsburgh.
