Update on the Privacy Laws

The Center of Excellence for Protected Health Information (CoE-PHI) will facilitate a free national webinar outlining the current status of the federal privacy protections for substance use disorder (SUD) treatment records, 42 CFR Part 2 and the HIPAA Privacy Rule.
Objectives
- Describe the current status of the federal privacy laws that apply to SUD treatment records (42 CFR Part 2 and HIPAA)
- Outline forthcoming changes to 42 CFR Part 2 (through the CARES Act)
- Identify how to access resources and technical assistance through the CoE-PHI
Who Should Attend
SUD and Mental Health treatment providers, clients, administrators, state agency leaders, and others involved in providing SUD treatment or coordinating care for SUD treatment.
